How the 12 NCBTMB-Approved CEs Meet Alabama Renewal Requirements

!!! (Pending Alabama Massage Board Approval)

Alabama massage therapists must complete 16 hours of continuing education every two years. Online continuing education is accepted, and NCBTMB-approved providers are recognized by Alabama.

As part of the renewal requirement, massage therapists must also complete 8 hours of training covering legal practice, discipline, human trafficking, and illegal practice.

Our 12-Hour Advanced Acupressure Techniques for Musculoskeletal Pain course satisfies 12 general hours toward Alabama's 16-hour CE requirement and is offered by an NCBTMB Approved Provider accepted by Alabama. (Pending Alabama Massage Board Approval AS OF 08/01/2026)

It does not cover any of the 8 mandatory contact hours covering legal aspects of practice, disciplinary procedures, human trafficking awareness, and illegal massage practice

We do offer a free NCBTMB-approved Human Trafficking Awareness course, that is pending Alabama approval.

Along with 4 CEs in Medical ethicswe believe may be appropriate for Alabama. We have submitted the courses for review and hope it will be accepted by the Alabama Massage Therapy Licensing Board toward the state's required training. Approval is currently pending review by the Alabama Board.

After completing our 12-Hour Acupressure course, Alabama massage therapists would still need the required 8 hours covering legal practice, discipline, human trafficking, and illegal practice.
